The Standard Bank Top Women regional roadshow is traveling to Free State, North West, Northern Cape, and Mpumalanga in May 2019!

The Standard Bank Top Women Pitching Den is a 2-hour platform for START-UP (EMERGING) companies to pitch their businesses LIVE in the form of a 3 minute elevator pitch to a well-rounded panel of judges and delegates followed by a 5-minute Q&A. In this way, the Standard Bank Top Women regional conference celebrates emerging companies with solutions spanning across all industries. This conference aims to encourage companies with the best growth potential to become market leaders, and to inspire future entrepreneurs and start-ups.

True success requires vision and leadership, financial accomplishment, strategic direction and innovation. This conference is designed to recognise and honour local entrepreneurs and companies whose innovative solutions will have a significant impact on the growth of the South African economy.

Conference Overview

The national Standard Bank Top Women Conference takes place in Johannesburg every August – but calls have come in from thousands of women around the country, who wants to participate and boost their business prospects. Now, regional Top Women Conferences is traveling to North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, and Nothern Cape regions this May 2019 to reach out to entrepreneurial women across the country who can look forward to hearing first-hand from successful leading women awards winners and entrepreneurs.

Attendees will come away with a new game plan for success, based on personal journeys related by invited women leaders – and a clearer idea of where and how to grow their own businesses.

Research shows that women in business are better borrowers and financial managers than men. Women are more likely to share their success outwards into their communities, which helps to uplift socio-economic conditions as a whole. Yet South African women entrepreneurs make up less than 5% of the entrepreneurial population – well below the global average.

Taking Down the Final Barrier

For women entrepreneurs, the biggest barrier to success is usually not business intelligence or innovative business models, but simply access to trade or markets- They have products and services but WHERE and HOW do they find opportunities to gain more clients and market share – locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally? Big corporates have recently been mandated through B-BEE and Supplier Development funding to start doing more business with black women-owned suppliers. If South Africa’s entrepreneurial women can open up such opportunities their productivity will soar, job creation will increase and their success will ripple outwards into the wider economy.

Women Advancing Together

Central to the regional Conferences will be the 1 – hour Fast Track Networking sessions, in which the entrepreneurial need for networking opportunities will be fully met. Participants will build up new meaningful personal networks, generate business interest or partnerships and gain even more business-building knowledge by sharing challenges, insights, and tips with other up-and-coming entrepreneurs. For this session, you are advised to bring lots of business cards.

A 2 – hour Pitching Den in which 8 pre-selected entrepreneurs with promising business models can outline them in a 3 -minute elevator pitch and get valuable advice, mentorship, and feedback from delegates and a panel of high profile judges on their next steps.
